With nearly 20,000 active providers in its network, Grow Therapy supports both in-person and virtual appointments and accepts most major insurance plans. Care is delivered through a single online platform that supports everything from assessments to outpatient medication management.
A new tech partnership
As the Grow Therapy platform expanded, so did the demands on its public-facing website. Growth brought not only higher traffic but also new marketing initiatives, content updates, and the need to know new user journeys. Seeking to meet its new demands, Grow Therapy reached out to By the Pixel for support.
The Grow Therapy site came with a few caveats that had to remain intact from day one. It needed to remain stable under heavy traffic, respect strict privacy boundaries, and stay flexible enough to support its fast-moving marketing team.
Fast forward to today, and our partnership continues to grow, with many hours each month dedicated to supporting Grow Therapy’s ever-evolving marketing website and email outreach.
Defining roles in a regulated healthcare environment
Coming into this partnership, our goal is to support Grow Therapy's marketing website and outbound email initiatives, including ongoing campaign execution and template support. At the same time, their internal engineering team owns the patient and provider platform for delivery.
In HIPAA-regulated environments, clear role separation is essential. The external marketing site focuses on helping people understand their options and find care, while all activities involving protected health information or care workflows remain within Grow Therapy’s platform. This separation helps keep technical decisions, data-handling practices, and system design separate, limiting access to sensitive information.
Given the importance of uptime in healthcare, our partnership also includes a formal around-the-clock website service-level agreement (SLA). The site needs to be live for those seeking help, and we are accountable to that expectation, given our understanding of Grow Therapy users' needs.
Through this partnership, our team adapted how we test, review, and ship work, placing greater emphasis on user validation and deliberate release cycles to reduce risk and protect user trust. We also granted Grow Therapy access to our internal agency communications tools to provide up-to-the-minute communication as needed.
Building what comes next
As our partnership continues, focus is expanding beyond maintenance and execution into experimentation and long-term optimization. Upcoming work includes performance testing, security enhancements, and data-informed iteration designed to support Grow Therapy’s evolving goals.
